Hi to all the readers out there. How's your day? My day was pretty much the usual thing. Wake up in the middle of the afternoon. Lucky today i decided to do abit of shopping. Now it's another item off the list. Blasted weather today. Hot and sunny, i must be crazy to tell my gf that i will do her shopping the next day, only to oversleep. Oh well, at least it's done, rather then it be delayed.
Nowadays as i hear alot of young people saying that "school sucks", or "i hate school", or "Oh, i quit school already" i tend to wonder why with a capital "W". what is wrong with building up the foundations for a good paying job in the future? Don't this people realise that it is an essential foothold to getting higher education level and eventually a better paying job ? Of course, initially i also hated school, but now as i looked back and reflect, i really regretted not studying properly. Wasted my time in school, always putting off homework, getting less-than-average results. By now i should be having a good paying job, married and starting my own family. But here i am, still studying. Sometimes i wish i can being them into the future and let them see for themselves, how would their future be like if they do not have good education. For the girls, i won't say much, except that don't always depend the guy to put food on the table all the time. Once in awhile, help to put food on the table too. For the guys, all i can say is that if you plan to start a family, or let alone get married, you got to earn at least $3,000 per month to at least put food on the table. Not to mention the bills that will follow. Now which job without the proper education level will be willing to pay you that amount straight away ? Based on your current education, how long can you keep doing those part time jobs ?
Fair enough, if you have the urge to study, but unable to afford a proper education, than i guess it's better to hunt for a job and save up. Or you can approach CDAC or MENDAKI or SINDA or assistance. Based on personal and silent observations, most eventually drop out is because they don't like their current course, or not is they lost the will to study. For those that drop out, because you don't like your course, i will say you are a fool with a capital "F", because you were given an opportunity to study there, instead you squander it. Why not make the best out of it instead? At least you still get something at the end of the day. I did not like my course in ITE, but yet i still made the best out of it. Yeah, you might tell me "but i am not you". Fair enough, but all i am saying is when you have a chance to study, don't waste it. Because when you start thinking back, and realise the mistake, it's a bit too late already. No one is born stupid or dumb. Only if you think that you are dumb and stupid, then half the battle is already lost.
Studying is a constant thing from the day we are born, until the day we die. Average and well paying jobs in singapore are also looking very closely at your education cert. To consider a career in the Army, is also not a very secure "iron-rice-bowl" option as it was in the past, because now the Army is also looking at your qualifications.
And thus with this final paragraph, i leave you with this question: Do you want to give up school halfway, end up with a low education, and end up with a low paying job that can barely cover the bills and put food on the table, or do you want to continue to study, earn a good education and end up with a good paying job that can not only put alot of food on the table, not only clear all the bills easily but also allows you alot more things to do and/or buy? The final choice is yours. I know it's not easy to keep on studying, but just perserve and press on, and reap the end rewards.
