36th Post

Hi to all the readers. How's the week getting on so far ? as the month of July draws to a close, what are your personal reflections on that month?

Sometimes as i take a look at the calendar and look out at the sunset, i tend to think. Wow, another day of my life is gone just like that. Do you ever wish that you can go travel back in time, to undo all the mistakes that you have made? But yet, the funny thing is that we need to commit those mistakes, in order to become a wiser and mentally stronger person. I am curious to know, what would it be like, if we can manage to travel back in time and tell our past self "Hey, don't do this, this is what i did the last time and look at what happened to me". Most likely the past self will just say that you are mad and scoff at your remarks. Because when we were young, we don't quite know how to think and i doubt that the word "consequence" was even in our mental dictionary.

Sometimes i look at kids, i envy them. So innocent, without a care or responsibility for the world. Everything, the parents take care of it. But that's wishful thinking if i were to still do that at my age. Oh well, the cruelty of reality. But no matter, i will take it in my stride.

Yet whenever i see the sun set, i tend to realize that one day, it will be the last sunset that i will ever witness. Do you fear death? Sometimes i do, and yet sometimes i don't. I don't fear death, because i know that one day, everyone will have to die and depart this mortal world. But yet, i fear death, because there are so many things in life that i want to see and explore. Time is so short. I have a constant fear that i will never be able to finish seeing what i wish to see. Trying out what i wished to try.

Man has, for many centuries, tried to find the elixir of life, legends which says that if consumed, will grant the person immortality and eternal youth. But yet, they fail. One can only imagine what it would be like to be able to live forever.

But yet, i can imagine the frustration, when one is granted the ability to live forever. Imagine, seeing all one's mortal friends, loved ones all dying off one by one. And when one's lifelong dreams has been accomplished, what next ? It's enough to drive one to the brink of madness and boredom. But yet, there are many people that have this fantasy, and not knowing the consequences of it.

But yet, knowing that one has to die eventually will also drive one to the point of tattered sanity. Which is what, i guess, have been driving man for centuries, to create the elixir of life. But until that is created, i guess we all have to put up with the knowledge that one day it will be our turn to leave this mortal world.

And so, with this final paragraph, i leave you readers in your thoughts. Take Care.
