20th Posting
Another boring weekend to come and go. Gosh, in a blink of an eye, and it's coming to the end of yet another month. Exams are next week and i have not started much studying. Guess i will have to mug a bit here and there, just to make up for the lost time. Anyway, my lab went alright.Managed to answered most of the questions. Had a hard time trying to answer the Disc Diffusion Assay though, not because the questions were hard, but because the clear area is extremely difficult to see and to measure the diameter. For those that do not understand, a Disc Diffusion Assay is whereby a disc is soaked in a particular type of antibiotic and its placed on an agar plate that is already inoculated with a particular type of bacteria. A clear circle will form after a period of time. The bigger the circle, the more effective the antibiotic against that particular bacteria.
Nowadays, as i sit on the bus, i tend to see a lot of people slamming their rear ends on the seats. Are they that fat? or are their wallets or mp3 players or ipods that heavy until they have to slam their backsides on the chair? i can understand if you are carrying armloads of heavy stuffs, but all these are small and extremely lightweight. I personally find it of slight irritation, especially if i am clearing my personal thoughts or reading a book. Imagine you are busy clearing some crucial thoughts in your mind, and suddenly this heavy backside person comes and slams his/her rear end, and your train of thoughts gets interrupted. I'm pretty sure you will be slightly irritated also. Worse, if you're on a long journey, and multiple heavy backside people come and slams their backsides non stop. I mean, what is so difficult to gently lower yourself on the chair ? Are the modern singaporeans born with such weak knees that they have to slam their backsides on the chair ?
Now, apart from the slamming of backsides on the chairs, the next problem encountered is the occasional slamming of the backs of the front passenger onto the back support of the chair. Some sitting configurations of the bus permits just enough leg space. When the person slams his or her back, the impact will also hit the knee of the rear passenger. I guess this is where the Heavy Backsides evolve from. Why can't people simply just sit properly in the bus ?
The 3rd issue i want to address is how some of the passengers sitting behind me like to fold their legs up, thus causing some discomfort to me sitting in front. i wonder, why some people in the bus can never sit properly and why must they sit so low and fold their legs and press against the backrest ? Are they hiding from someone? if there is no one sitting in front, they can bloody fold their legs until it becomes a pretzel for all i care. Why, i if i had a knife, i would have stabbed the bugger's legs already. i understand leg space can be scarce, but it's not that bad right ?
Well, for all you readers out there, you probably tell me, "aiya, you complain so much, don't sit bus lah, complain so much for what?" Well, firstly, i am just simply putting down what i observe. I am sure everyone has that "kaypoh" bug somewhere. Secondly, if you don't like what i write, u can just simply click on that little "x" on that top right hand corner. Thirdly, Unless my dad is a multi billionaire, forget about taking taxis often, let alone getting a chauffeured ride Fourthly, I'm in the midst of taking my driving course.
So in the meantime, guess i have to put up with the heavy backsides and the leg curlers of Singapore.
